Breaking news: Sammamish Town Center Passes Concurrency Tests
In a great piece of news, the Sammamish Town Center project, which the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce strongly supports, has received concurrency certificates affirming that the development has passed the City’s transportation concurrency standards, which are the strictest in the state.
As the City’s announcement notes, the issuance of the concurrency certificates is for three zones (A-1, B and C) in the Town Center that are planned for 62 single-family homes, 300 apartment units, 57 town homes, and 82,000 square of commercial space for stores and restaurants.
The Chamber has long and strongly advocated for an increase in housing choices and especially for additional commercial space in the city.
The issuance of the concurrency certificates is a major step forward in demonstrating that the Sammamish Town Center project, a transit-oriented mixed use development, can responsibly accommodate growth that is coming to the City in a manner that enhances the character and livability of the community.
The next step will be a Land Use application by the Town Center developer, which will include detailed plans demonstrating how the development will be compatible and consistent with the City’s adopted Sammamish Town Center Plan, Town Center Infrastructure Plan and other applicable standards and regulations.
